He asked if this is one of the I 1. <br /> <br />Principal Planner Trudgeon responded it is. The applicant has submitted a Separate application <br />for a quicker response than waiting for the public hearing later in the month. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Sweet, to close the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Vice Chair Kociscak, Commissioners Johnson, Sweet, Reeve, and <br />Watson. Voting No: None, Absent: Chairperson Nixt and' Commissioner Brauer. <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 8:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Vice Chair Kociscak called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 8:45 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Watson, to recommend that the <br />City Council adopt the resolution authorizing staff to submit the Comprehensive Plan <br />Amendment to Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Vice Chair Kociscak, Commissioners Johnson, Watson, Reeve, <br />and Sweet. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Nixt and Commissioner Brauer. <br /> <br />Case #6: <br /> <br />Request to Rezone Property from R-1 Residential, B-1 Business and B-2 <br />Business to R-3U Multiple Residential; Case of Edina Development, Inc. <br /> <br />Vice Chair Kociscak clbsed the regular portion of the Planning Commission meeting at 8:46 p.m. <br />in order to call the public hearing to order. <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Vice Chair Kociscak called the public hearing to order at 8:46 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Principal Planner Trudgeon explained that Edina Development has entered into a purchase <br />agreement with property owners Herman and Judi Danholz and Ken and Sharon Niles. Edina <br />Development is requesting to rezone approximately 25 acres from R-1 Residential, B-1 Business, <br />and B-2 Business to R-3U Multi-Family Residential. Property to the north is zoned R-1 <br />Residential, to the south the zoning is B-I, Business and R-1 Single Family. To the east and west, <br />the properties are zoned B-1 and B-2 Business. The rezoning would allow the applicant to. <br />construct a townhome development. The applicant has submitted a general development plan for <br />the subject property that is proposing to construct 112 townhome units.
