-18- <br /> <br />SCBA's <br /> <br />RFD keeps an adequate supply of repair parts for current SCBA's. Capital equipment <br />plan continues to show a complete change out in the year 2004. This change will bring <br />all SCBA equipment up to current NFPA standards. <br /> <br />The SCBA compressor installed at Fire Station #2 will accommodate both the old and <br />new style SCBA's. <br /> <br />Fire Inspections/Prevention Activity <br /> <br />Fire Extinguisher exchange program: staffed at station #2 each Thursday from 2-5 pm. <br />Activity has been constant since the beginning. Many positive comments received on <br />program. <br /> <br />Fire Prevention Week: Fire Department visited over 1000 Kids in 2001. <br /> <br />Fire Investigations: 12 investigations within Ramsey in 2001. <br /> <br />Building/Business Inspections: 24 completed since beginning in fall of 2001. <br /> <br />FEMA Grant: Ramsey awarded almost $60,000 to be utilized for fire <br />preve ntion/ed ucation. <br /> <br />Fire Extinguisher Classes for city employees: All of Public Works, Administrative Staff <br />had opportunity for attending fire extinguisher class. <br /> <br />End of the Year Interviews <br /> <br />As in years past the Fire Chief interviews each firefighter asking how the year had gone, <br />2001 questions were: <br /> <br />1) <br />2) <br />3) <br />4) <br />5) <br />6) <br />7) <br /> <br />Opinions on 2001 training, best subjects, worst. Rate from 1-10. <br />Where do you see RFD in 5 years. <br />Thoughts on separate station response. <br />Illegal burn response. <br />Rate the working relationship with our Police Dept. <br />Have you been treated unfairly by anyone in 2001. <br />Issues to discuss in confidence. <br /> <br />Unfortunately the interviews are not complete.
