PC CASE <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE APPOINTMENT TO POLICE INVESTIGATOR POSITION <br /> By: Rhonda Heryla, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On January 8th, the City Council approved Officer Brad .Paplham for the Corporal <br />assignment in 2002. Officer Paplham was previously assigned to an investigator role <br />with the department. With his change in assignment, the investigator role was posted and <br />one officer expressed interest in the position. Based on an interview with the interested <br />officer, staff is recommending Officer Sheldon Erdman be appointed to the Investigator <br />assignment to replace Officer Paplham. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends Officer Sheldon Erdman be appointed to the InVestigator assignment <br />with additional compensation at a monthly rate consistent with the Law Enforcement <br />Labor Services (LELS) union contract. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that City Council adopt a resolutiOn authorizing the appointment <br />of Officer Sheldon Erdman to the Investigator assignment with additional compensation <br />at a monthly rate consistent with the Law Enforcement Labor Services (LELS) union <br />contract. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Police Chief <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />Copies also distributed to: <br />Personnel File <br /> <br />PC: 1/22/02 <br /> <br />-257- <br /> <br /> <br />
