-258- Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION # RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPOINTMENT OF OFFICER SHELDON ERDMAN TO INVESTIGATOR ASSIGNMENT WHEREAS, on December 11, 2001, the City Council authorized the promotion of one patrol officer to a Corporal assignment in 2002; and WHEREAS, the Corporal assignment was filled by Officer Brad Paplham who previously served as an Investigator; and WHEREAS, a vacancy was thereby created in January 2002 and the need for an Investigator was posted internally; and WHEREAS, one patrol officer expressed interest in the assignment and was recommended by the First Sergeant and Police Chief for the assignment; and WHEREAS, the Personnel Committee, at its January 22, 2002, meeting agreed with the staff recommendation to appoint Officer Sheldon Erdman to the Investigator assignment with additional compensation at a monthly rate consistent with the Law Enforcement Labor Services (LELS) union contract. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to appoint Officer Sheldon Erdman to the Investigator assignment with additional compensation at a monthly rate consistent with the Law Enforcement Labor Services (LELS) union contract. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 22nd day of January, 2002.
