I <br />I <br /> <br /> I <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />PC CASE <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE APPOINTMENT TO POLICE CORPORAL POSITION <br /> By: Rhonda Heryla, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On December 11, 2001, the City Council approved the promotion of one patrol officer to <br />a Coporal assignment in 2002. The position was posted and six patrol officers expressed <br />interest in the position. Panel interviews were held with all six patrol officers on <br />December 20, 2001. Based on the panel's recommendation, staff is recommending <br />Officer Brad Paplham be appointed to the Corporal assignment effective January 1, 2002. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends Officer Brad Paplham be appointed to the Corporal assignment <br />effective January 1, 2002, with additional compensation at a monthly rate consistent with <br />the Law Enforcement Labor Services (LELS) union contract. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the appointment <br />of Officer Brad Paplham to the Corporal assignment effective January 1, 2002, with <br />additional compensation at a monthly rate consistent with the Law Enforcement Labor <br />Services (LELS) union contract. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Police Chief <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />Copies also distributed to: <br />Personnel File <br /> <br />PC: 1/8/02 <br /> <br />-219- <br /> <br /> <br />
