-220- Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION # RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPOINTMENT OF OFFICER BRAD PAPLHAM TO CORPORAL ASSIGNMENT WHEREAS, on December 11, 2001, the City Council authorized the PromOtion of one patrol officer to a Corporal assignment in 2002; and WHEREAS, the position was posted internally and six qualified patrol officers expressed an interest in the Corporal assignment; and WHEREAS, on December 20, 2001, a panel interview was held with each of the six interested candidates; and WHEREAS, the panel recommended Officer Brad Paplham be appointed to the Corporal assignment effective January 1, 2002, with additional compensation at a monthly rate consistent with the Law Enforcement Labor Services (LELS) union contract; and WHEREAS, the Personnel Committee, at its January 8, 2002, meeting agreed with the staff recommendation to appoint Officer Brad Paplham to the Corporal assignment effective Jamlary 1, 2002. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Cormnittee to appoint Officer Brad Paplham to the Corporal assignment effective January I, 2002 with additional compensation at a monthly rate consistent with the Law Enforcement Labor Services (LELS) union contract. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 8th day of January 2002.
