CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, December 11, 2001, at the
Ramsey Fire Station Number II, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota.

Members Present:

Mayor Thomas Gamec
Councilmember Susan E. He requested that the Council
changes and decide whether or not to place them on the propo~,

regarding the land use
proposed land use

Mayor Gamec noted that the proposed land use changes nothing to do with rezoning, it is
only a proposed use. The land use changes will be presented at a public hearing on January 24,
2001 at which time there will be public input. The actual rezoning of the property would take
place individually for every parcel and would require individual notification to the adjacent
property owners.

Councilmember Hendriksen replied that the distinction was true, but misleading because once
the City has designated land for a certain use they cannot refuse the rezoning and if they do they
can be brought to court and be forced to rezone the property. He felt that the Mayor was giving
the residents a false assurance that their concerns will be heard.

City Council/December 11, 2001

-39-
