Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: Authorize Hiring of Community Service Officer <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Heryla stated that on December 11, 2001 the City Council <br />authorized an'additional 20 hours per week for a Community Service Officer as included in the <br />2002 budget. The opportunity for the additional 20 hours was posted internally for five business <br />days in accordance with the union contract. Cary Sckiferli, the City's current Community <br />Service Officer, was the only~3pplicant. Staff recommended that the Mr. Schiferli be hired for <br />the position of full-time ty Service Officer effective January 1, 2002 with a salary <br />consistent with union co,ct and~Wo weeks vacation. Mr. Schiferli would be required to serve <br />a six month probatiOn~ period. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Ga : r ied:b¢:C uncilmember Kurak, to recommend that the City <br />Council authorize the hiring of.C.ary':Schifer~.~for the position of full-time Community Service <br />Officer effective January 1, 20~.i ~vith}~a:~:;~ala~consistent with the union contract and two weeks <br />vacation and serving a six month prob~-SflalT-~eriod. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
