RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND <br />ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID ON DEMOLITION OF CONCRETE BUILDING <br />ON FORMER L. W. MAKENS PROPERTY <br /> By: Sean Sullivan, TIF Specialist <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Tax Increment Financing District No. 8 was created in December 2000. The City of <br />Ramsey has bonded to construct public improvements within the boundaries of this TIF <br />District. The City of Ramsey has agreed to provide City Utilities to T & G, Land, Inc. by <br />July of 2001. In order to satisfy this commitment, construction of 141st Avenue must <br />commence as soon as possible. In order for construction to commence the concrete <br />building located on the south boundary of the old L. W. Makens Property must be <br />demolished. Kenko, Inc. has verbally agreed to vacate the building by April 1,2001 and <br />move its equipment to the Southern portion of Lot 2, Block 1, Gateway North Industrial <br />Park No. 5. Plans and specifications for the demolition have been completed by <br />Hakanson Anderson and Braun Intertec has performed an asbestos hazardous abatement <br />survey. State law requires at least 10 days published notice prior to accepting bids. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Adopt Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Advertisement of Bid for <br />Demolition of Concrete Building on Former L.
