I I PERSONNEL COMMITTEE CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, January 23, 2001, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec Councilmember Susan E. Anderson Councilmember Terry Hendriksen Councilmember Patti Kurak Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman Also Present: Human Resources Manger Rhonda Heryla City Administrator James E..Norman Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler Finance Officer Diana Lund Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Boos CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Anderson called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 6:19 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT None. COMMITTEE BUSINESS Case #1: Fire Officer Selections for Year 2001 Fire Chief Kapler stated that the Fire Department Officers group has been made up to include the following positions: Assistant Fire Chief, Captains, Lieutenants, and a Training Officer. In 1999, the position of an additional Assistant Fire Chief was added to coincide with the second Fire Station. Each position carries a term of two years and half are up for consideration each year, thus providing some level of stability within the Department. Historically, the Fire Chief has conducted applicant interviews and makes a recommendation to the City Administrator for approval. In this case, the interviews were completed in December 2000, and the recommendations were discussed with the City Administrator in early January 2001.
