Anderson <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Human Resources Manger Rhonda Heryla <br />City Administrator James E..Norman <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Boos <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Anderson called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 6:19 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Fire Officer Selections for Year 2001 <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler stated that the Fire Department Officers group has been made up to include the <br />following positions: Assistant Fire Chief, Captains, Lieutenants, and a Training Officer. In <br />1999, the position of an additional Assistant Fire Chief was added to coincide with the second <br />Fire Station. Each position carries a term of two years and half are up for consideration each <br />year, thus providing some level of stability within the Department. Historically, the Fire Chief <br />has conducted applicant interviews and makes a recommendation to the City Administrator for <br />approval. In this case, the interviews were completed in December 2000, and the <br />recommendations were discussed with the City Administrator in early January 2001.
