We have submitted previous requests dated July 12, 2000 and October 12, 2000. I am again requesting the refund of costs totaling $11,904.00 as follows: 1. $7,974.00 - This fee was erroneously charged to us when we applied for site plan approval for our 17,815 sq.ft, retail cc:nter. The resolution authorizing this fee was approved by the' city council on Dece.nber 10, 1996. Paragraph 2 of that resolution states as follows: "that the schedule of rates, fees, and charges is hereby amended to include a storm water trunk charge of $350.00 per unit on residential subdivisions and $3,500.00 per acre on commercial and industrial subdivisions". We were only applying for site plan approval on a lot in an existing commercial subdivision; therefore the fee should never have been imposed on us. We subdivided this property in 1995, pdor to the date that this resolution Was effective. 2. $3,930.00 - This was for costs incurred by us but not required by our project. This was for the cost of capping off a 4" gate valve in the street. I was there at the site when this was happening and was told that this was strictly a City of Ramsey item. At the meeting tonight, we will have a representative from our general contractor explain this matter in more detail. · I am respectfully requesting a 'prompt refund of $11,904.00 plus interest from October 31,2000. , Sincerely, President -219-
