Case <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVEING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 01-18, BUILDING DEMOLITION <br /> <br />By: Sean Sullivan, TIF Specialist <br />By: Brian Olson, City Engineer <br /> <br />FOR <br /> <br />Background: Tax Increment Financing District No. 8 was created in December 2000. <br />The City of Ramsey has bonded to construct public improvements within the boundaries <br />of this TIF District. The City of Ramsey has agreed to provide City Utilities to T & G, <br />Land, Inc. by July of 2001. In order to satisfy this commitment, construction of 141st <br />Avenue must commence as soon as possible. In order for construction to commence the <br />concrete building located on the south boundary of the old L. W. Makens property must <br />be.demolished. Ken/m, Inc. has verbally agreed to vacate the building by April 1, 2001 <br />and move its equipment to the Southern portion of Lot 2, Block 1, Gateway North <br />Industrial Park No. 5. Plans and specifications for the demolition have been completed <br />by Hakanson Anderson and Braun Intertec has performed an asbestos hazardous <br />abatement survey. Notice has been published 10 days prior to accepting bids. Bids have <br />been received and opened on March 26, 2001 and the lowest responsible bidder <br />determined. The results of this bid opening will be given at the March 27, 2001 City <br />Council meeting and the resolution on the following page will be completed with the <br />appropriate information <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Adopt Resolution RECEIVEING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 01-18, BUILDING DEMOLITION <br /> <br />Council Action: 1 ~ <br /> <br />Motion to adopt Resolution # 01-03-__ RECEIVEING BIDS AND AWARDING <br />CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 01-18, BUILDING <br />DEMOLITION <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Engineer <br />TIF Specialist <br /> <br />CC: 03/22/2001 <br /> <br />-137- <br /> <br /> <br />
