The site plan is proposing a building height of 44' 10" this is a deviation from City Code and <br />requires a variance. The Board of Adjustment reviewed a variance request by Amcor Precast on <br />May 1, 2001 to exceed the building height restriction, Since the Fire Department currently does <br />not have a reach capability over 35-feet, the Board of Adjustment denied the request for a <br />variance. Amcor Precast has submitted a letter to the City Council for an appeal of the variance <br />decision by the Board of Adjustment. The Council will be reviewing the appeal on May 22, <br />2001. <br /> <br />The Planning commission reviewed the site plan on May 1,2001. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />The Planning Commission is recommending approval of the site plan contingent upon <br />compliance with City Staff review letter dated April 27, 2001 revised May 18, 2001and Amcor <br />Precast obtaining a variance to the building height and/or the City Council resolving the fire <br />suppression issue. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission is also recommending that the City Council include an aerial ladder <br />truck in the 2002 capital improvement budget. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to approve the proposed site plan for Amcor Precast contingent upon compliance with <br />City Staff review letter dated April 27, 2001 revised May 18, 2001. <br /> <br />-or- <br /> <br />Motion to deny the proposed site plan for Amcor Precast. <br /> <br />Review Checldist: <br />Community Development Director <br />City Engineer <br />Principal Planner <br /> <br />CC: 05/22/01 <br /> <br />Copies To: <br />City Attorney <br />Parks & Utilities Supervisor <br />City Administrator <br />Fife Chief <br /> <br /> <br />
