-304- In the recent past, the Council approved a conditional use permit for a home business on Hwy. #I0 that included a business sign, given the fact that the use was on a State Highway, across the street from commercial uses. (The Home Occupation section of City Code does not permit signage of home businesses.) Some years ago, the Council also granted a permit for a sign on T.H. #4? for an agriculture business in a Residential district. The Planning Commission conducted the public hearing on August 7. There was a resident present expressing support of Mr. Bergersen's request. Subsequent to the Planning Commission meeting, staff also received a letter of support which is enclosed. Recommendation: Recognizing that there are numerous self-employed persons residing in the community that would like to advertise their business from their residential property, the Planning Commission did recommend approval of Mr. Bergersen's request because his property is located on a MuniciPal State Aid road in close proximity, to commercial uses. Motion to adopt Resolution #01-08-.~Uadopting Findings of Fact # v~, lating to Mr. O' Ber~,ersen s request for a conditional use permit to display an adYertising sign at 6211 167 Avenue N. Motion to approve Nk. r~¢rg¢r~e request a conditional use permit to display an advertising. sign in a Residential district, based on the findings of fact, and adopt Resolution #01-08-~\\ declaring terms of same. -or- Motion to recommend that City Council deny the request for a conditional use permit from Mr. Timothy Bergersen based on the findings of fact.
