The property west of Armstrong Boulevard should be designated as <br />mixed use to include the rail station and then layer that area with high, and medium density <br />residential. <br /> <br />Mr. Bachan replied that it has already been made clear that all five Councilmembers will not <br />agree to that option. He inquired if there were any other options. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to what the importance was of the mixed-use <br />designation. He questioned why it was so important to have residential in the location of <br />Ramsey Boulevard and Armstrong Boulevard. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson stated that there are some Councilmembers that believe that mixed use <br />provides a good net tax base. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec suggested placing townhomes along Northfork golf course and then place <br />industrial in the location of the loop of the bridge: <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen noted that he could agree with townhomes being located in the area <br />of Northfork. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson stated that the main issue of debate seems to center around Section 28. <br />She inquired as to what portion of section 28 could be mixed use. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen replied that it depends on how they define mixed use. <br /> <br />Councilmember Amderson stated that she believes that the rail station should be combined with <br />mixed use. <br /> <br />Mr. Bachan inquired as to what the Council thinks off'hen they say mixed use. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen replied that he sees mixed use as retail, commercial, <br />business/warehouse and some residential. He does not see heavy industrial. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman inquired as to how much commercial can the City support with <br />Riverdale down the road. -- <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that the area will not be a large shopping center.
