Minnesota Department of Health - April 2010 <br />Work Item (describe the work that will be performed). <br />Monitor any nonconforming potential contaminant source currently documented within the IWMZ, <br />Estimated cost of performing this work: $800 <br />8 hours of staff time @ $100/ hr = $800 <br />Product(s) produced or anticipated outcomes of performing this work: <br />Ensure that existing nonconforming potential contaminant sources do not endanger wells <br />Page number(s) hi the source water protection plan that reference the source water protection measure(s) <br />that will be supported by this work item: Page 27 <br />Work - Item (describe the work that will be performed). <br />A letter will be sent to the owners of properties. within the West DWSMA that own regulated underground storage <br />tank advising them that they are located within a wellhead protection area and reminding them of the monitoring <br />requirements and the advantages of early leak detections, <br />Estimated cost of performing this work: $400 <br />4 hours of staff time @ $100/ hr = $400 <br />Product(s) produced or anticipated outcomes of performing this work: <br />Increased awareness of the need for proper tank monitoring and inspection, <br />Page number(s) in the source water protection plan that reference the source water protection measure(s) <br />that will be supported by this work item: Page 28 <br />Work Item (describe the work that will be performed). <br />A letter will be sent annually to the owners of properties within the West DWSMA that use, handle or <br />store large quantities of chemicals used for agricultural purposes, The letter will inform property owner <br />that their facility is located within a sensitive DWSMA and of the vulnerability of the aquifer to <br />contamination from such chemical sources. The letter will also contain information about the Minnesota <br />Technical Assistance Program (MNTAP), a non profit organization that assists businesses in proper waste <br />handling and management, <br />Estimated cost of performing this work: $400 <br />Product(s) produced or anticipated outcomes of performing this work: <br />Increased awareness of the need for proper tank monitoring and inspection, <br />Page number(s) in the source water protection plan that reference the source water protection measure(s) <br />that will be supported by this work item: Page 28 <br />
