Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: I I RESOLUTION #01-12- A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS OF FACT # RELATING TO A REQUEST FROM JEFF DEAL AND CROSSTOWN SIGN FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO EXCEED SIGN SQUARE FOOTAGE RESTRICTIONS ESTABLISHED IN CITY CODE WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey received an application from Jeff Deal and Crosstown Center Sign for a conditional use permit to exceed the sign square footage restrictions the property legally described as follows: I I I I Lot 2, Block 1, Deal Industrial Park, Anoka County, Minnesota. ("Subject Property") NOW THEREFORE,. BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA that the findings of fact relating to the request are determined to be as follows: That Jeff Deal and Crosstown Center Sign, hereinafter referred to as the "Applicants," properly applied for a conditional use permit to exceed sign square footage and height restrictions on the Subject Property. I I That the Applicants appeared before the Ramsey Planning Commission for a public hearing pursuant to Section 9.03.04 of the City Code on December 4, 2001, and that said public hearing was properly advertised, and that the minutes of said public hearing are hereby incorporated as a part of these findings by reference. I I I i I I o That the Subject Property is approximately 1.83 acres in size. That the Subject Property and the parcels to the north, south, east and west are zoned B-3 'Highway Business. That Section 9.12.08, Subd. 2, of the Ramsey City Code states that wall signs shall be limited to 15% of the front building fagade. That the Applicant is allowed 122 square feet of wall signage on the Subject Property. That the Applicant is proposing to erect an awning sign that will extend along the building front and a portion of the east and west sides of the building. That the awning is 315 square feet in size and entirety of the awning surface will be faced with business and service advertising along with color logos. The installation of the 315 square foot advertising awning results in a 193 square foot overage in the allowable wall signs on the building. 10. That the Applicant is proposing to remove all existing wall signs. -123-
