Con'm'dssioner Donovan feels that a procedural item anyway. He does not see making it a permanent two-year position right now. Motion by Commissioner Vogt and seconded by Commissioner LaMere to send the folio, wing to the City Council for language for the November 7, 2000 ballot: Shall the number of Councilmembers be increased from four to six with the election year 2002. Further discussion: It was discussed whether or not the verbiage relating to an interim, two-year term would be included. Commissioner Donovan suggested that the interim two-year term would be the Commission's recommendation, but that it is not necessary to put that language to a vote. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Kiefer, Donovan, Henke, Netzloff and Rosenow. Voting No: Brist. Commissioners Vogt, LaMere, Childs, None. Absent: Commissioner Spain The second issue was the discussion of primaries and wards. Chairperson Kiefer asked if anyone is interested in either of these items. A straw poll was taken. Consensus of the commission was to put an item on the next agenda that would bring about the discussion of whether or not it is valuable to draw wards without the intent of using them within the next couple of years.
