-254- Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: #01-11- RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF FEE TITLE TO CERTAIN PROPERTY LEGALLY DESCRIBED AS LOT 2, BLOCK 2, GATEWAY NORTH INDUSTRIAL PARK PLAT 2 WHEREAS, the City finds it necessary and in the public interest to initiate redevelopment of blighted property.; and WHEREAS, the property is located in redevelopment TIF District No.2; and WHEREAS, the City has failed through direct negotiation top acquire the aforementioned property.; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to acquire fee title to certain other parcels located within the district; and WHEREAS, the legal descriptions of the land to be acquired is as follows: LOT 2, BLOCK 2, GATEWAY NORTH INDUSTRIAL PARK PLAT (the "Property"); and WHEREAS, the City declares that it is in the public interest to acquire the Property above described; and WHEREAS, the City has authority to acquire the Property Interests for the Public Improvement Project by eminent domain pursuant to Minn. Stat. Chapter 117; and WHEREAS, the City has the right to acquire title and possession of the Property prior to the filing of an award by the Court appointed commissioners, pursuant to Minn. Stat. §11.7.001 and §117.042; and WHEREAS, the City finds and declares that it is in the public interest to acquire title to and possession of the Property prior to the filing of an award by the Court Appointed Commissioners; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, AS FOLLOWS: That in order to carry out the purposes and objectives described above it is necessary to acquire the Property.
