Section 9.50 establishes the requirements and standards for subdivision of
land. The final adoption of the proposed amendments to Section 9.50 was delayed to coincide
with adoption of the Tree Preservation Ordinance. The reason for the delay is that it was fairly
certain that the preliminary and final plat submittal requirements in Section 9.50 would need to
be modified based on the outcome of the Tree Preservation ordinance and the requirements it
place on new development. On July 22, 2003, the tree preservation ordinance was introduced.
The necessary changes to Section 9.50, based on the tree preservation ordinance, have been
incorporated into the proposed ordinance and are identified with underlines. The amendments to
Section 9.50 are now ready for adoption and include tree preservation requirements.

Observations:

In accordance with the City Charter, the ordinances are now eligible for adoption.
Recommendations:

City Staff recommends adoption of the enclosed ordinances at this time.

Council Action:

Motion by and seconded by to adopt Ordinance

Sections 9.11 (Performance Standards), 9.12 (Signs), and 9.14 (Solid Waste)o-f Cha~ter 9 of the !
Ramsey City Code.

Roll Call Vote:

Councilmember Elvig
Councilmember Strommen
Councilmember Kurak
Councilmember Zimmerman
Councilmember Cook
Councilmember Pearson
Mayor Gamec
