-438-

3) Drainage Issue Update

Background:

Staff went out to the Obermaier residence to confirm that Walter Laboratories Inc., was on site to
do some boring and water samples adjacent to the drain field. At the time the results were
expected to be available within a week. The other drainage issue was the Weekly resident that
was impacted by dewatehng. The dewatering activity has ended which should reduce water
levels. It was recommended by Councilmember Elvig that it would be a benefit for Staff to
monitor the water level after the dewatering activity. It was noted that there would be some
mitigated work that will be done to the backyard area. The City does have a firm commitment
fi'om the developer to pay for those costs. Councilmember Elvig stated that it would be
beneficial to have a baseline to work with since they know that there are going to be more
developments occurring in that area that will require dewatering.

4) Acknowledgment of Grant Riemer and his Staff

Commendment was given to Grant Reimer and his staff for their work on a culvert situation that
impacted the access to ten homes.

Reviewed by:
City Administrator
Director of Public Works/Fire Chief
Assistant Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer

CC: 08/12/03
