In situations where identity is questioned, fingerprint <br />verifications will be allowed. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Summary <br /> <br />This new ordinance authorizes the City of Ramsey Police Department to conduct criminal <br />background investigatiOns on finalists for City positions. Before the investigation is <br />undertaken, the applicant must authorize the Police Department, in writing, to undertake <br />the investigation and to release the information to the City Administrator or other staff as <br />appropriate. Only conviction information related directly to the position sought will be <br />considered. The information collected as a result of adoption of this ordinance is <br />currently classified as public. <br /> <br />SECTION 3.
