Mayor Gamec stated that he does not want to create a ~ituation where the accessory stru_c~,~ ends up allowing the property owner to bhng more stuff onto the property. Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to adoPt Resolution #03- 08-219 adopting Findings of Fact #0646 relating to Michael St. Hilaire's request for a conditional use penTfit to exceed accessory building size requirements on the property at 6251 169th Lane NW. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Kurak, El-dig, Cook, Pearson, Strommen, and Zirmnerman. Voting No: None. Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councihnember Elvig, to approve Michael St. Elilaire's request to exceed accessory building size restrictions based on the findings o£ fact, and adopting Resolution #03-08-220 declaring terms of same. Further discussion: Mayor Gamec inquired it' the City could restrict any additional items from being stored on the property. Community Development Director Frolik explained that the Plmming Commission had the same discussion and they felt that if City Code allows things to be parked outdoors they did not know how they could restrict it. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Kurak, Elvig, Cook, Pearson, Strommen, and Zimmennan. Voting No: None. Case #7: Request for an Interim Use Permit to Allow for an Unimproved Parking Lot, Outdoor Storage, and the Use of an Existing Building for Educational Purposes; Case of Anoka Technical College Community Development Director Frolik stated that Anoka Technical College has submitted an application for an Interim Use Permit to allow for an unimproved parking lot to be u~ed as overflow parking, outdoor storage of vehicles, and the use of an existing building for education purposes on the former ICO gas station property on Highway #10. The property itself is located on the north side of Highway 10 at the Anoka-Ramsey border. The College is planning on purchasing the property and malting improvements to the site once it receives funding from the State of Minnesota in the next' budget biennium. The property currently has a direct access to Hwy. 10 that serves as right-in, right-out for the property. There is also an unimproved comaection from the property to the Anoka Technical College parking lot. The Planning Commission, at their August 7, 2003 meeting, recommended approval of the IUP subject to the conditions outlined in the Interim Use Pen2it. Councilmember Kurak stated that currently the school is storing the simulated bum trailer next to the highway and she inquired if it would be possible to place the equipment behind the building because they are e)e catching."
