I
I
I
I

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
i

CASE #

ENTER INTO PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT WITH
MNDOT FOR THE T.H. #47 STP AND ASSOCIATED PROJECTS
By: Steve Jankowski, City Engineer

Background:

The attached Agreement acknowledges the State's commitment to providing the construction
engineering and inspection on the T.H. #47 projects at no cost to the City. This will save the
City $256,000 over the previous cost estimate dated November 30, 1999. Attached is a newly
updated cost estimate for the T.H. #47 STP Project dated January 7, 2000, which includes this
cost adjustment and the additional cost participation by Anoka County. The Council requested
this updated cost estimate at their January 3 work session. Also requested and attached is a cost
estimate of the related T.H. #47 projects, which include Sunwood Drive, watermain and sanitary
sewer looping.

The proposed Agreement would Commit the City to paying the State 8% of the construction cost
on Sunwood Drive and C.S.A.H. #5 to cctv, er inspection and contract administration, and 4% of
the construction cost to cover contract administration on the sewer and water looping. The City
will need to provide its own inspection of the sanitary sewer and water looping.

Council Action:

Motion to adopt Resolution #00-01-XXX authorizing the Mayor and City Administrator to enter
into a Joint Powers Agreement with MnDOT to provide contract engineering and inspection on
the T.H. #47 STP and related projects.

Reviewed by:

City Administrator
City Attorney
Director of Public Works

CC: 01/11/00
