Ms. Booth stated that she is concerned that the City will approve the plan without discussing the
plan with the neighbors.

Councilmember Zimmerman replied that the City would include the residents before a final
decision was made.

City Engineer Jankowski explained that if an alternate plan is agreed upon Orrin Thompson
Homes would need to obtain right of entry to regrade the property.

Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if the residents would be opposed to a retaining wall being
installed on their property.

Ms. Booth replied that she would not be opposed to a retaining wall if they know what the
property will look like when completed.

Ms. Weiss stated that Orrin Thompson Homes has not been getting back to them in regards to the
situation.

Mr. Weiss explained that during their ~eeting with Orrin Thompson Homes, Bill Pritchard
mentioned the idea of possibly changing their home as another option, but have not had any
response to their correspondence.

Councilmember Zimmerman noted that the City needs to approach the situation on a
neighborhood basis so the whole problem is solved not only a portion of the problem.

Ms. Tanski stated that she would not be opposed to a retaining wall if it will correct the problem,
but wants to know what her property will look like.

Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if Councilmember Hendriksen would be willing to meet
with the property owners before the Council meeting.

Councilmember Hendriksen replied yes.

Mr. Tanski stated that they have not had much response from Orrin Thompson Homes in regards
to the situation and think they are finally realizing that the City and the residents are not going to
drop the issue.

Brett Perry, representing Orrin Thompson Homes, replied that Orr/n Thompson Homes is not
putting the issue off. He explained that Orrin Thompson Homes has been working with the City
on a solution and the plan has to be appi-oved by the City. Once they receive a preliminary okay
from the City he expected that the residents would be given an opinion also.

Public Works Committee/November 16, 1999
