Families who use the adaptive equipment and toy lending library are generally low income and do not have the resources to purchase toys for their young children. 50% of the families who use the Library are iow or moderate income. Approximately 5-8 families from the City of Ramsey will use the Toy and Adaptive Equipment Lending Library. Services are provide throughout the community including cities and areas considered to be low/moderate project areas. V. Project Duration: The services are ongoing and have received past CDBG Funding. The project has served families through the Toy and Equipment Lending Library and adults through the advocacy and self advocacy program. Services have been provided in Anoka County since the mid 1980's. The program is expected to continue in the future. The project is part of a larger effort by Arc to serve children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. Arc Anoka, Ramsey and Suburban is an advocacy organization consisting of people with developmental disabilities, parents, professionals and concerned citizens of the communities we serve. The agency has a membership of over 1,600 and serves over 16,000 people yearly. Arc is committed to building inclusive communities and providing advocacy and support for people with developmental disabilities and their families.
