i. <br />i <br />I <br /> <br />,/ <br /> <br />Violence Prevention Services and Teen Advocacy Services <br />Advocates provide classroom violence prevention educational presentations to Anoka County <br />students in grades kindergarten to high school. Violence prevention services create a safe <br />atmosphere where children and youth learn about the issues of violence, resources available <br />and how to help someone who is hurt. Each presentation is tailored to specific topics and age <br />groups. The topics include respecting each other, healthy relationships, fanfily violence, <br />dating violence and safety planning. <br /> <br /> ~ddition, teen advocacy services are provided in Anoka-Hennepin gl 1 and Spring Lake Par'- <br /> school distrY:ts. These services are available to middle and high school st-ud~nts who <br /> .:F~.rienced vioience in their ...homes, among peers or in dating relationships. Volunteer gainings are held 3 times <br />a year and consist of 30 hours of initial training. Follow-up on-the-job training and monthly <br />in-services are also provided. <br /> <br /> <br />
