Anderson Councilmember Margaret Connolly Councilmember Terry Hendriksen Members Absent: Mayor Thomas Gamec Also Present: City Administrator James Norman Finance Officer Diana Lund Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler CALL TO ORDER Councilmember Anderson called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 6:46 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT There was none. APPROVE AGENDA The Finance Committee meeting agenda for the meeting January 25, 2000, was approved as presented. COMMITTEE BUSINESS: Case #1: State Matching Grant for Tire Deflators It was noted that the 2000 adopted General Fund Budget provides $84,000 for the purchase and set-up of three new police squad cars. It is intended that a set of tire deflators be purchased for each of these squads and that three sets of existing deflators be placed in police vehicles not now equipped with the devices. The Police Department applied to the Department of Public Safety for a matching grant in the amount of $652, which has been approved. While the State does not require Council approval to award the funds, staff is asking for Council authorization to enter into the joint powers agreement and for the City to accept the matching grant.
