ORDINANCE 00-XX <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A STORM sEWER IMPROVEMENT TAX <br />DISTRICT (MISSISSIPPI RIVER STORMWATER SUBDRAINAGE DISTRICT NO. 1) <br />IN THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION I. AUTHORITY <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey is authorized by Minnesota Statutes, §444.16 through 444.21 (the "Act") to <br />establish storm sewer improvement tax districts for the purposes of constructing and financing <br />storm sewers and related facilities. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. <br /> <br />FINDINGS <br /> <br />The City hereby finds and determines that it is necessary and desirable for the health, safety and <br />welfare of its residents and for the proper control of storm drainage and flooding in the City to <br />use the authority contained in the Act to establish a storm sewer improvement tax district (the <br />"District"). The purpose of the District shall be to finance through a tax the cost of acquisition, <br />construction, reconstruction, extension, maintenance and other improvements to storm sewer <br />systems and related facilities with the District as prescribed in the Act. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. BOUNDARIES OF DISTRICT <br /> <br />The Mississippi River Stormwater Subdrainage District No. 1 is established. The boundaries of <br />the District are as follows: <br /> <br />See attached Exhibit "A" containing legal descriptions. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />The effective date of this Ordinance is thirty (30) days after its passage and publication, subject <br />to City Charter Section 5.04. <br /> <br />PASSED by the City Council of the City of Ramsey, Minnesota, this 22nd day of February 2000. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
