3) Update on T.H. #47 <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman reviewed the funding that the City will be receiving for the T.H. #47 <br />project, noting the large decrease in cost to the City. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen requested an updated spread sheet of all the funding. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if there will be a joint powers agreement with the State of <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied that staff is working on obtaining such an agreement. <br /> <br />4) Commuter Rail Station <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that in the Friday, February 18, 2000, Anoka and Coon Rapids <br />newspaper, it stated that there would be" 13 commuter rail stations including the downtown <br />Anoka site and Riverdale site, but the Ramsey site had been excluded to the surprise of Staff. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that there has never been any indication that the Ramsey site was going to <br />be dropped. They were actually told that the site was approved and he thinks it was wrong that <br />no discussion with the City had taken place prier to the decision being made. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson stated that County Commissioner Dan Earhart had indicated that the <br />possibility was diminishing for the Ramsey site a month ago and thinks it has to do with the <br />Anoka Hennepin Technical College not being relocated. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he is disappointed in how the situation is being handled. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman suggested that the City of Ramsey approach the North Star Corridor <br />Board. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cormolly replied that the City should be given the reasons as to why the <br />decision was made to eliminate the Ramsey site. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman suggested formally asking the Board to delay the decision. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly requested that staff draft a letter that would be signed by all <br />Councilmembers. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to direct staff <br />to draft a letter questioning why the Ramsey site was eliminated without being consulted, request <br /> <br />City Council/February 22, 2000 <br /> Page 26 of 27 <br /> <br /> <br />
