Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec and Councilmember Anderson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Receive Information about Resignation of Half-Time Secretary/Building <br />Inspector and Authorize Process to Hire Secretary Position <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Heryla stated that Colleen Rybak submitted her resignation effective <br />March 24, 2000, resulting in a vacancy for a half-time secretary and a half-time inspector. Staff <br />recommends creating a full-time secretary position and consideration of combining the half-time <br />building inspector position with the half-time fire code inspector position to become a full-time <br />fire code inspector position. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Anderson to recommend City <br />Council accept the resignation of Colleen Rybak and send her a letter of recognition for her years <br />of service. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gam'ec and Councilmember Anderson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the possibility of creating a full-time secretary position by <br />combining the vacated position with one of the current part-time secretary positions or dividing <br />the vacated 20 hours between the part-time secretary positions. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Anderson to recommend City <br />Council authorize staff to begin the process to fill the secretary position. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec and Councilmember Anderson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler stated he researched the fire code inspector position with other cities and found <br />that it is typical to have the fire inspector working under the building inspections department. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly stated that in order to combine the two positions the desired applicants <br />would need to be licensed inspectors, and Mr. Kapler agreed. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Consensus was to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />The regular Personnel Committee meeting adjourned at 6:27 p.m. <br /> <br />Personnel Committee/March I4} 2000 <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
