'1 <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br />Mr. Vevea stated five different neighboring properW owners have spoken against the facility and <br />he urged the Planning Commission to vote accordingly. <br /> <br />Doug Hanson. stated tonight there was no truck traffic and yet vehicles were lined up far enough <br />to block McKinley Street. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Commissioner Nixt moved and Commissioner Kociscak seconded to close the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Anderson, Commissioners Nix-t, Kociscak, Dempsey, <br />Johnson, and Wivoda. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 7:12 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Chairman Anderson called the special meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 7:12 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson requested clarification of the consideration before the Planning <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik stated the Planning Commission is reviewing whether <br />a transfer station is a compatible use related to' the main use. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson asked if it is a.permitted uses on this property. <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br />'1 <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br /> I <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik explained that a transfer station is not a permitted use <br />in any zoning district in the City and the City Attorney felt a conditional use permit was the <br />proper consideration under the Solid Waste Management Ordinance. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson noted there is no location where this use could be allowed without a <br />conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik stated that is correct and this type of request is <br />reviewed on a case-by-case use but the office and truck terminal is a permitted use. <br /> <br />Chairperson Anderson asked why a special meeting was called tonight to consider this request. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik §tated a special meeting was called in consideration of <br />the applicant's construction schedule and because the applicant would like to know if they will <br />be allowed to have the transfer station. Also, the office and truck terminal are contingent upon <br />the transfer station being approved. <br /> <br />Chairperson Anderson asked the applicant what they will do if the conditional use permit for the <br />transfer station is not approve. <br /> <br />Planning Commission/April i0, 2000 <br /> Page 8 of 17 <br /> <br /> 131 <br /> <br /> <br />
