Thc public hearing closed at 9:14 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Chairperson Anderson called the special meeting of the Planning Comr~]ssion back to order at <br />9:14 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wivoda questioned the need for continuing Barium Street] <br /> <br />City Engineer/[ankowski replied that when Barium Street was platted it was anticipated that it <br />would continue to the south,, but stated there are other options available. He did note that the <br />traffic generation ~n_a!ysis completed on Barium Street showed that there would be very minimal <br />impact on the existing neighborhood by connecting. Barium Street to the proposed development. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wivoda inquired <br />Barium Street as a "short cut". <br /> <br />if the traffic amalysis takes into <br /> <br />consideration people using <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson stated that is concerned that the residents in the proposed development <br />will take Barium Street to the north rather than the. south, <br /> <br />City Engineer jankowsld replied that if the intersection of Barium Street and Dysprosium does <br />not function then it could be an accurate scenario that people would use Barium Street to the <br />north, <br /> <br />'Commissioner Johnson questioned if Barium Street was turned into a cul-de-sac What impact <br />would it have on the developer. <br /> <br />Chairperson Anderson inquired if the traffic study included an analysis of traffic traveling from <br />the ~xisting neighborhgod to the south, <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied that that scenario was not studied. <br /> <br />Mr, Bulow stated that he would be willing to change the plan so that it would have no connection <br />to the existing neighborhood and construct ail of the interior streets as a private road except <br />the entrance off DysProsium to the apartment entrance, <br /> <br />Commissioner Jensen inquired if the fight-in right-out access onto C.R. #116 would serVice the <br />entire site. <br /> <br />Mr. Bulow replied that the access would probably only service the apartments. <br /> <br />Commissioner 3'ohnson stated that he likes the concept of making the entire development a <br />private drive. <br /> <br />Planning Commission/March 20, 2000 <br /> Page 9 of 15 <br /> <br />I <br />! <br />i <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />! <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> i <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br /> <br />
