Councilmember introduced, the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #00-04- RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A BUDGET AIvlEND~NT TO REALLOCATE $ FROM THE EXPENDITURE RESERVES TO THE PLANNING AND ZONING BUDGET FOR THE PURPOSE OF.ENGAGING THE SERVICES OF A CONSULTANT TO ANALYZE THE CITY'S TOWER ORDINANCE WHEREAS, City actions taken with regard ~o telecommunication activities must comply with a nUmber of federal parameters established by the Telecommunications Act of 1996; and. WHEREAS, the City of RamseY enacted Ordinance #97-08 in 1997 for the purpose of regulating the establishment of communication towers in the City of Ramsey; WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended that the City Council allocate funds to engage the services of a consultant to determine whether or not the regulations. established under Ordinance #97-08 are defensible in light of federal and state laws and insure safe towers that are placed in suitable locations. I I I I i I NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RA~SEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the Ramsey City Cm~acil hereby authorizes a budget amendment to rea/locate $__ from the 2000 Expenditure Reserves to the Planning and Zoning Budget for the ' purpose of engaging a consultant to review the current tower regulations The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor'thereOf: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: I I I I and the following Were absent: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City 'Council this the . day of ,2000.
