I Case I I I I REQUEST TO AMEND CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO EXPAND MANUFACTURING FACILITY: CASE OF CANVAS CRAFT By: Anita Rasmussen, City Planner Background: Steve Franta is asking to expand the manufacturing portion of his business, which is retail sales of canvas boat covers, portable fishouses, and related items. The site is located at 7815 Riverdale Drive, generally located South of State Highway #10 and East of Armstrong Blvd. (County Road 83). I I I I I The applicant received a Conditional Use Permit in 1992 for the manufacturing portion of the facility. The Conditional Use Permit that was issued on March 24,1992 stated any expansion or enlargement of the manufacturing operation requires the applicant to obtain a new Conditional Use Permit. Observations: Subsequent to the issuance of a Conditional Use Permit on March 24, 1992 the demand for canvas boat covers, fishouses and other related items has greatly increased. The applicant is asking for an expansion of his existing building to provide more manufacturing and warehousing area to adequately serve the increase in customers. I I The applicant has also submitted a site plan for the proposed 2,520 square foot manufacturing/warehouse addition. The existing manufacturing/warehouse area is 3,472 square feet in size. The proposed addition will match the existing building and comply with all related City Codes. I I
