Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #00-05-XXX RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HIRING OF KlM MOORE-SYKES IN THE POSITION OF FULL-TIME ASSISTANT CITY ADMINISTRATOR WHEREAS, City Council accepted the resignation of Administrative Services Manager Joyce Pruitt Hottinger, effective October 15, 1999, thus creating a vacancy in the Administrative Services Department; and WHEREAS, on October 12, 1999, Council authorized staff to proceed with the process of placing a general ad to fill the vacancy, whether the position be filled in its current capacity or in the capacity of an Assistant City Administrator; and WHEREAS, on November 9, 1999, Council received report that the City had received over 100 applications from the general ad that was placed and authorized staff to enter into an agreement with PDI for recruitment and initial selection processes for an Administrative Services Manager; and WHEREAS, on November 16, 1999, Council received a report suggesting the position of Administrative Services Manager be filled with someone who would be assigned special projects and be an assistant to the City Administrator and that a Personnel Technician position be added to relieve that part of the Administrative Services Manager's duties to allow for concentration on special projects; and WHEREAS, on November 23, 1999, Council received report that PDI had completed their review of resumes received for the Assistant City Administrator/Administrative Services Manager position and requested that extended resumes be sent out to 15 candidates; and WHEREAS, on December 21, 1999, Council was presented with a list of seven finalists for the Assistant City Administrator position and determined to interview five candidates in the second week of January; and WHEREAS, on January 25, 2000, Council author/zed the hiring of Klm Moore-Sykes to serve in the position of full-time Assistant City Administrator at the posted annual salary of $57,268, contingent upon physical examination and implementation of a one-year probationary period. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: That a vacancy existed in the position of Administrative Services Manager/Assistant to the City Administrator. 2.
