PROPOSED ORDINANCE #00- <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 8 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE BUILDING AND <br />HOUSING CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8.30 "SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS" OF <br />CHAPTER 8 OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT <br /> <br />Subsection 8.30.02 (Administration) shall be amended to include the following language: <br /> <br />8.30.02A Maintenance <br /> <br />Frequency of Assessment. The owner of an individual sewage treatment <br />system or the owner's agent shall regularly, but in no case less frequently <br />than every three years: <br /> <br />Assess whether the sewage tank leaks below the designed <br />operating depth and whether sewage tank tops, riser joints, and <br />riser connections leak through visual evidence of major defects; <br />and <br /> <br />Measure or remove the accumulations of scum, which includes <br />grease and other floating materials at the top of each septic tank <br />and compartment along with the sludge, which includes the solids <br />denser than water. <br /> <br />b. Pumping Reports. Septic tank pumpers shall file a monthly Pumping <br />Report at the City, upon forms supplied by the City, on each system serviced and <br />provide all the applicable details requested. These forms shall become part of the <br />permanent City records. <br /> <br />c. Notification Process.
