REPORT FROM PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE By: Public Works Staff CASE #: Background: The Public Works Committee met on Tuesday, July 18, 2000, and discussed n/ne cases as follows: Case #1: Signage on 153rd Avenue N.W. East of Highway #47 It was the consensus of the Committee that the two intersections on the north side of 153~d Avenue N.W. which have existing curb cut for future roads (Xkimo Street N.W. and Waco Street N.W.) be signed using a 18' x 18' reflective diamond signs. Council Action: Motion to ratify the Public Works Committee's recommendation to install two 18' x 18' reflector signs at the intersections of Xkimo Street N.W. and Waco Street N.W. with 153~d Avenue N.W. Case #2: Consider Placement of 2000 Priority Street Lights Staff presented a map identifying 13 locations proposed for installation of priority Street Lights for the year 2000. The Committee recommended proceeding with the installation of lights at these locations. Council Action: Motion to ratify the Public Works Committee's recommendation to approve Priority Street Lights locations for installation included in the Year 2000 budget as presented by staff. Case #3: Update on Mississippi Sub-Drainage District No. 1 The status of the acquisitions of seven parcels over which permanent and temporary drainage easements must be obtained to facilitate the storm sewer project was presented by staff. Parcels 4, 5, 6, and 7 have provided no response or a negative response to the City's easement offer. Parcels 2 and 3 are expected to be settled without eminent domain proceedings. Parcel 1 has counter offered $1,280 in response to a City offer of $555.
