REPORT FROM PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE <br /> By: Public Works Staff <br /> <br />CASE #: <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee met on Tuesday, July 18, 2000, and discussed n/ne cases as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Case #1: Signage on 153rd Avenue N.W. East of Highway #47 <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Committee that the two intersections on the north side of <br />153~d Avenue N.W. which have existing curb cut for future roads (Xkimo Street N.W. <br />and Waco Street N.W.) be signed using a 18' x 18' reflective diamond signs. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to ratify the Public Works Committee's recommendation to install two 18' x 18' <br />reflector signs at the intersections of Xkimo Street N.W. and Waco Street N.W. with <br />153~d Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />Case #2: Consider Placement of 2000 Priority Street Lights <br /> <br />Staff presented a map identifying 13 locations proposed for installation of priority Street <br />Lights for the year 2000. The Committee recommended proceeding with the installation <br />of lights at these locations. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to ratify the Public Works Committee's recommendation to approve Priority <br />Street Lights locations for installation included in the Year 2000 budget as presented by <br />staff. <br /> <br />Case #3: Update on Mississippi Sub-Drainage District No. 1 <br /> <br />The status of the acquisitions of seven parcels over which permanent and temporary <br />drainage easements must be obtained to facilitate the storm sewer project was presented <br />by staff. Parcels 4, 5, 6, and 7 have provided no response or a negative response to the <br />City's easement offer. Parcels 2 and 3 are expected to be settled without eminent <br />domain proceedings.
