The City currently charges a plan check fee for <br />reviewing building permit applications. The plan check fee is an amount equal to 65% of the <br />cost of the building permit. <br /> <br />In reviewing building permit applications for multi family developments, it is only necessary to <br />perform the plan check on one set of plans for each style of structure to be built within a project <br />area. The Building Official has indicated that the plan check and fee on subsequent identical <br />structures is not warranted or justified. <br /> <br />In checking with other communities, it has been determined that a nominal administrative fee is <br />charged for all second and subsequent multi-family structures of identical design and <br />construction to the first one for which a plan check was performed.. <br /> <br />City Staff is recommending that the Schedule of Rates and Charges be amended to substitute a <br />$50.00 administrative fee for the plan check fee on all second and subsequent multi-family <br />structures with identical designs.
