One of
these revisions, Subd.13 specifically requires that by December 31, 2000, "each
responsible authority or other appropriate attthority in every government entity shall
appoint or designate an employee to act as the entity's data practices compliance
official." It is the intent of this legislative revision of Chapter 13 for the data compliance
officer to take questions or concerns regarding problems in obtaining access to City data
or other data practices problems.

Observations: It was determined that because of the level of responsibility that is
required by Subd. 13, the Assistant City Administrator would act as the City's data
practices compliant official. In the event that the' Assistant City Administrator is not
available, the City Clerk may be able assist with any requests until the Assistant City
Administrator's return.
Council Action: (5Q~
Motion to approve the designation of the Assistant City Administrator as the City's Data
Practices Compliance Official.

Reviewed by:
City Administrator

Copies also Distributed to:

Attachments:
Copy of the Chapter 13 revision regarding Data Practices Compliance Official.
Resolutiou #00-10-

C: 10/10/2000
