-272- Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #00-10-X_,V, LX RESOLUTION ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT WITH ANOKA COUNTY, THE FISCAL AND CONTRACTING AGENT FOR ANOKA COUNTY CHILDREN AND FAlVlILY COUNCIL, TO ACCEPT A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $26,041 TO FUND A POLICE OFFICER TO BE ASSIGNED TO INVESTIGATION AS A JUVENILE AND SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER AT RAMSEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WHEREAS, Anoka County Children and Family Council (ACCFC) is a family services collaborative for which Anoka County is thc fiscal and contract agent; and WHEREAS, ACCFC has developed a pilot program with the City of Ramsey Police Department to provide.a liaison officer at the Ramsey Elementm'y School to work with truancy and other issues within the school; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey submitted a proposal to ACCFC, which awarded the City a grant in the amount of $26,041 to implement a program beginning January 1, 2001 and ending December 3 i, 2001; and WHEREAS, ACCFC has requested Anoka County enter into a contract with the City of Ramsey, which will be funded by ACCFC resources. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: I) That a Ramsey Patrol Officer would be assi=m-~ed to investigation as a juvenile and school resource officer at Ramsey Elementary School for the majority of the year 2001. 2) That the City of Ramsey enter into a signed agreement with Anoka County in order to carry out a school liaison officer program. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereo5 and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 28'~' day of November 2000.
