CONTRA CT Contract #2000-2216 <br /> <br />THIS CONTRACT is made between Amoka Cotm~.~, 2100 Third Avenue, Anoka, MN 55303 [COUNTY],on <br />behalf of the An0ka County Children and Family Council [ACCFC], and City of Ramsey, on behalf of ~he <br />Ramsey PoLice Department, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, MN 55303 [CONTRACTOR].. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />ACCFC is a family se.wices collaborative for which Anoka County is the tis'cai and contracting <br />agent. <br /> <br />ACCFC wishes to develop a pilot program with local laTM enforcement agencies to provided liaison <br />officers in elementary schools to work with truancy and other issues within the school. <br /> <br />(3) CONTRACTOR submitted a proposal to ACCFC to participate in the pilot program. <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br />ACCFC has requested the COLrlxFFY enter into a con,ct winh CONTRACTOR, which will be <br />funded by ACCFC resources. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises and agreements contained in this document; <br />the COUNTY and CONTRACTOR agree as follows: <br /> <br />1.1 <br /> <br />2.2 <br /> <br />This Con,act begins on January,,' ,.,~,~ ~,'na' and end~ on December 31, 2001, unless terminated earlier. <br />as provided in Sectionl 1. TERMINATION. <br /> <br />SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR agrees to provide school liaison officer(s) in accordance with its proposal to <br />ACCFC, which is Attachment C. <br /> <br />The liaison pro~'a~ is meant to address police/school/community response on behavior and truancy <br />issues. <br /> <br />2.2. i The focus i-s on children at risk for behavior and truancy issues. <br /> <br />2.3 <br /> <br />The school liaison officer(s) will take part in a team within each elementary school involved in the' <br />liaison program. <br /> <br />2.3. i Consideration should be given to using uniformed officers who may be social workers or <br /> have special mining in working with children. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />2.4 <br /> <br />2.3.2 In the alternative, it is suggested that strength-based, family systems training be made <br /> available to officers taking on the school' liaison officer role. <br /> <br />The school liaison officer(s) will serve only a few schools Chat have the highest rates of absenteeism <br />and discipline issues. <br /> <br />2.4.1 <br /> <br />It is anticipated that the school liaison officer(s) work would include home visits, checking <br />in on children at home and school, and being part of a School based team with extended <br />presence on school property. <br /> <br />-273- <br /> <br /> <br />
