PC CASE <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE RECRUITMENT OF POSITIONS INCLUDED UNDER THE 2001 BUDGET <br /> By: Rhonda Heryla, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Pending approval of the 2001 budget, staff is seeking authorization to begin recruitment efforts for <br />new positions created as part of the 2001 budget. With each new position, staff must either write or <br />revise the job description, post positions internally, write newspaper advertisements, and assemble <br />materials and panel members for interviews. Under the 2001 budget, the following positions are <br />new: <br /> <br />Administration: <br /> <br />Clerk II <br />Building Maintenance Worker (part-time) <br /> <br />Police: <br /> <br />Community Service Officer <br />Crime Prevention Specialist <br />Patrol Officer <br /> <br />Public Works: <br /> <br />Public Works Maintenance Worker <br />Lead Person <br /> <br />Community Development: Plalming Intern <br /> <br />After recruiting and interviewing applicants, staff will return to Council to make a reconm~endation <br />and request approval to hire an individual to fill the vacancy. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends authorizing the recruitment of the newly created positions listed above, pending <br />the approval of the 2001 budget. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that City Council authorize staff to begin recruiting for the newly created <br />positions listed above, pending approval of the 2001 budget. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Assistant City Administrator <br />Police Chief <br />Director of Public Works <br />Community Development Director <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />PC: 12/12/00 <br /> <br />-333- <br /> <br /> <br />
