! ! EXTENSION OF CONTRACT FOR CURBSIDE RECYCLING SERVICES WITH ACE SOLID WASTE, INC. Klm Moore-Sykes, Assistant City Administrator Background: On December 22, 1997 an agreement was signed between the City of Ramsey and Ace Solid Waste, Inc. whereby Ace would provide the City with curbside recycling services from January 1, 1998 through December 31, 2000. In Section 4., Term of the Cgntract, part B., allows for the renewal of this contract for one year at the City's option. Observations: The Community Development Assistant contacted the Assistant City Administrator advising her that the three-year curbside recycling contract with Ace Solid Waste, Inc. is expiring as of December 31, 2000. Ms. Wald indicated that she would like to continue working with Ace and has requested that the City consider extending the current contract one*year to December 31, 2001. Staffhas contacted the City Attorney to prepare an amendment for the contract extension. Ace Solid Waste, Inc. has agreed to no increase in remuneration for 2001. Currently, Ace Solid Waste, Inc. receives $1.78 per month for each residence located with the City of Ramsey. Staff' Recommendation: Staff is recommending that the curbside recycling contract with Ace Solid Waste, [nc., which includes the City Attorney's amendment, be extended for one year, expiring December 31,2001 Council Action: Motion to extend Ace Solid Waste, ,Inc.'s curbside recycling contract for one year, to December 31, 2001.
