-20- <br /> <br />The Contractor shall provide the £ollowmg equipment and labor biannually for recycling days: <br /> <br />I. Six (6) roil-offboxes or equivalent <br /> <br />2. All required labor for removal of materials collected <br /> <br />3. Trucking services for the delivery and removal of the roll-offboxes <br /> <br />The City shall provide a system for the collection of special fees associated with the collection of prob{em <br />materials at the recycling day (i.e. tires, appliances, fluorescent bulbs). <br /> <br />The Contractor shall begin collecting at curbside clothes/textiles beginning in I998, on a date that is <br />mutually agreeable to the Contactor and City and provides'Contractor with 60 days notice. The <br />collection of clothes/textiles will continue for the term of the contract as a part of the normal curbside <br />collection program, <br /> <br />SECTION 4. TEtLM OF CONTRACT <br /> <br /> A. The term of this Contract shall be January 1, 1998 through December .3I, 2000. <br /> <br /> B. This Contract may be renewed for one contract period (I additional year) at the City's option. Renewal <br /> shall be subject to mutual Contract amendments proposed by the City or the Contractor. The unit cost of <br /> the program shall be negotiated by the City and the Contractor pr/or to the granting of the extension. The <br /> City may, however, seek competitive bids for renewal, and'in its discretion, select another Contractor. <br /> <br /> C. The City shall notify the Contractor a minimum of six (6) months prior to the Contracts termination <br /> (June 30, 2000) if the City intends to request an extension. If the Contractor intends to cease the <br /> provision of recycling services it shall nodfy the City at least slx (6) months pr/or to the Contracts <br /> term/nation. [f the Contractor notify the City of its intent to cease the provision of recycling services it <br /> shall not bid on the ne~'Contract. <br /> <br />SECTIOrg 5. PREP.4.R.-kTION FOR COLLECTION <br /> <br /> A. All occupants of residential properties in the City will be directed to prepare and store recyclabte materials <br /> in containers provided by the City. <br /> <br /> B. City residents will be advised that containers in which recyclable materials have been stored shall be <br /> placed on the boulevard area of the street in front of their residence for collection. Containers shall be <br /> placed for collection by 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled day of collection. <br /> <br /> C. Ali recyc!able mater/als placed for collection shall be owned by and be the responsibility of the occupants <br /> of each residential property until said materials are handled bythe Contractor.
