I

<':'1
:;"1
J

2-

FCCASE #3

PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION PRESENTATION
ON THE 2000-2004 PARKS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (C.I.P.)
By: Mark Boos, ParkslUtilities Supervisor

Background:

As the Finance Committee is aware, each year the Park and Recreation Commission discusses
the Five-Year C.I.P. relating to Parks and Trails. For 1999, this began in May and lead to a
public hearing at the Commission's regular October meeting. The attached ledger describes
those proposed projects (These are also listed in the Five-Year C.I.P. document most recently
distributed at the Monday, December 6, 1999 work session).

As is the case with each project in the Five-Year C.I.P., adoption of the plan (parks in this case)
indicates that moneys are available for the first year and will likely be funded on a per project
basis. The remaining years may be modified for a number of reasons when the next year's
planning document is adopted.

Observations:

The purpose of this case is for the Park and Recreation Commission to present the Five-Year
C.I.P. request. The entire Five-Year C.I.P. plan is expected to be presented for City Council
consideration in January 2000. The attached ledger is numbered which corresponds to the color
map enclosed loose with your agenda packet.

Finance Committee Action:

Motion to recommend that City Council adopt the Parks portion of the 2000-2004 C.I.P. as part
of the entire Capital Improvement Program.

. -or-

Based upon discussion.

Reviewed by:

Copies also distributed to:

Director of Public Works
ParkslUtilities Supervisor
Park Commission

City Administrator
Finance Officer

Fe: 12/14199

\\RA]Sl \VOL l\users\Cily Shared File\COUNCILC\FCParks C I P.doc
