t Metropolitan Council Local Planning Handbook 1 Section 5 Water Resources Management <br />General requirements <br />A list of content and process requirements compiled from a number <br />of Minnesota statutes, Minnesota rules and Metropolitan Council <br />policies is found on pages 83 - 87 in Appendix B -2 of the Water <br />Resources Management Po /icy Plan. The local water management <br />plan must address the following to meet the requirements identified <br />in the Water Resources Management Policy Plan: <br />• A section titled "Purpose" that outlines the purposes of the <br />municipality's water management programs. <br />• An executive summary that summarizes the content of the <br />water management plan. <br />• An outline of all the water resource management agreements <br />that have been entered into by the local municipality. <br />• A land and water resources inventory which includes <br />information required by the WMO plans such as precipitation, <br />geology, topography, surface water resources, groundwater, <br />soil data, pollutant sources, fish and wildlife habitat and water <br />based recreation areas. <br />• The policies and goals relating to the purpose of the plan and <br />consistent with policies and goals of the WMO (e.g., policies <br />for improving groundwater and surface water quality and <br />quantity, managing wetlands, controlling erosion and <br />protecting recreational areas and wildlife). <br />• An outline of the municipality's implementation program. <br />http://www.metrocouncil.ord/plan <br />ninq /environment/WRM PP /WRM <br />PPMay2005 Appendices2.pdf#p <br />age =17 <br />April 2008 5 -14 <br />
