Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At its meeting of December 8, 1998, Council adopted a resolution of intent to enter into a <br />joint powers agreement with Anoka County and other members of the Anoka County <br />Joint Law Enforcement Council for the purpose of establishing a central records system. <br /> <br />The Anoka County Board of Commissioners authorized, at its December 15, 1998 <br />meeting, the issuance of up to 1.23 million dollars in capital notes to fund this project. <br />The Board also authorized a contribution of $400,000 toward this project, leaving the <br />balance to be shared by the other members based on each city's calls for service <br />documented at the central communications dispatch center during 1997. <br /> <br />A final draft of the joint powers agreement has been reviewed by Ramsey City Attorney <br />Goodrich and he will provide comment at the Council meeting. <br /> <br />Staff is requesting affirmative action by Council adopting the resolution entering into the <br />joint powers agreement. <br /> <br />Motion to adopt Resolution #99-01-~')U authorizing the execution and delivery of a joint <br />powers agreement relating to the Anoka County Joint Law Enforcement Central Records <br />Project. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />Police Chief <br />City Administrator <br />City Attorney <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />CC: 01/12/99 <br /> <br />jo/jpacentrec <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br /> <br />
