Resource Center for Fathers & Families <br /> <br />$1,000.00 <br /> <br />The organization's mission is to help men become better parents, regardless of their marital <br />status, by providing parenting classes, father support groups, anger management courses, and <br />family law seminars. <br /> <br />Central Center for Family Resources - Bridgeview <br /> <br />$500.00 <br /> <br />Bridgeview is a psychosocial rehabilitation program for persons experiencing persistent mental <br />illness. The main goal is to provide a comfortable place for members to interact with others, <br />reduce isolation and avoid hospitalization. Transportation is provided through an agreement with <br />RISE but funding is not sufficient to reach people in outlying areas like Ramsey. The funding <br />will be used to expand the transportation program. <br /> <br />Other project options include: <br /> <br />City_ of Ramsey ADA Trail Retrofits <br /> <br />$9,500.00 <br /> <br />There are an estimated 19 locations in the City where pedestrian walkways or trails meeting <br />curbs are not in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. <br /> <br />Replacement of playground Equipment at River's Bend Park <br /> <br />$50,000.00 <br /> <br />The playground equipment at River's Bend Park is due to be replaced in 2000. The new <br />equipment will be in compliance with the American's with Disabilities Act and is therefore <br />eligible for CDBG funding. <br /> <br />Amendments to Ramse¥'s Zoning Chapter $35,000.00 /~ <br />It will be necessary to amend Chapter 9 of the City Code, Zoning and Subdivision of Land, for <br />the purpose of implementing the new Comprehensive Plan. This project qualifies for CDBG <br />funding as a planning project. <br /> <br />Rehabilitation of Housing (Anoka County_. Community Action Program <br /> <br />.,Any ~mo~z~t <br /> <br />ACCAP has a housing rehabilitation program for low and moderate income homeowners. The <br />funds can be used for housing repairs relating to building code compliance, health, safety, or <br />winterization. These types of repairs include but are not limited to wells, septic systems, siding, <br />windows, electric, plumbing, furnaces and roofs.. Cosmetic improvements like carpeting are not <br />eligible unless it is posing a safety or health hazard. Historically, there has always been 1 or 2 <br />residents on the waiting list, but currently there are none. With some advertising of the program, <br />there is no doubt that applications will come in. Coon Rapids did not have anyone on the <br />waiting list last year; after advertising the program they received 25 applications. The County <br />cap per home for improvements is $20,000.00. <br /> <br /> <br />
