I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

TEAM-BUILDING CONSULTANT FOR STAFF AND COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY
By: Melissa Petrangelo, Assistant to the City Administrator

Background:

In 1995, members of the Ramsey City Council and City staff attended a team-building,
mission and goal-setting session. City Administrator Norman has recommended that this
type of session take place again in February, 1999. There are new members on staff and
Council and this type of session would prove to be very useful.

A Request for Proposal (RFP) was sent to 12 team-building consultants of which seven
responded. Following reference checks and review of the proposals, staff chose to
interview four of the consultants. Interviews were conducted with James Lyrm from
Lynn and Associates, Bill Hudson from Brasstacks Network, and Carl Neu from Neu and
Associates. Marsha McKinnie Davis declined our offer for an interview.

Financing:

The 1999 budget allocated $7,500 for a team-building retreat.

Recommendation:

Staff will be prepared to make a recommendation at the Council meeting.

Council Action:

Based upon recommendation and discussion.

Reviewed by:

Assistant to the City Administrator
CC: 01/26/99

jo/teambuild

Copies also distributed to:
City Administrator
